It seems every time I have a conversation with anyone- I will eventually hear about another new show I MUST WATCH. It’s overwhelming really. I personally don’t have enough free time in a week to watch all these amazing shows. We may be the only couple who has not seen one episode Game of Thrones.
But, I have new guilty pleasure. Younger. “40-year-old Liza (Sutton Foster) passes herself off as 26 to land a job. Now she has to make sure no one discovers her secret.” I am mid-way through season 1 and I’m totally hooked. With 4 seasons, I’ve got plenty of Hulu binge watching ahead of me!
I’m afraid to ask, but what show(s) are you loving?
And so begins another school year. After what can be described as THE BEST SUMMER EVER, my kids started school this week with really very little fanfare. Team Thomas is in a lovely spot where nothing is new, it is the same old thing, and the kids know how it all goes. Being a veteran mama, I know this moment of calm will not remain. Stealing a line from Ms. Winfrey, this I know for sure. In the past, I would worry about what is to come-but worry is futile. Not sure I would call it wisdom, but it feels good to simply enjoy where we are RIGHT now.
After a couple days of spinning my wheels, I got some sh*t done yesterday. I wrote a to do list and threw all I needed in a “run around” bag. After a hard {mostly uphill} run, I finished my errands in an hour or so. As a helpful friend, I thought I would share the info on a few items that ended up in my bag.
Amazingly awesome thank you cards from Rifle Paper Co. I have long overdue thank you notes to write and these are just perfect.
Dinner: The Playbook by Jenny Rosenstrach. This new cookbook is going to change my life. That may be a stretch but I am totally excited about it. It is a 30-day plan for mastering the art of the family meal. I will share more in the weeks to come. My husband is more than thrilled that I am looking forward to cooking dinner after months of having no interest.
Instagram prints from Walgreens. Using the mobile app I was able to make prints of Instagram photos for Little Man’s homework assignment. I truly adore the 4×4 size of the prints. You might say I am obsessed with Instagram and its prints!
Thanks for being patient for new blog posts. Life as a full time mom-especially during the summer- is a juggling act. I SO appreciate your support. Remember to like Where is June? on Facebook, follow me on Instagram and Twitter, and subscribe right here for new posts to be delivered to your inbox.
You know that moment when your girlfriend walks into the party and she is wearing the most stunning earrings? What is the first thing you ask her? Where did you get those? You know what they say- knowledge is power! The hard part is we don’t all have time {or the energy} to be in the know. Fret no more! Rank & Style has you covered. Seriously, it is kind of brilliant.
Rank & Style creates Top Ten lists using an algorithm {yes, I needed help spelling that} that researches and aggregates data from the department stores, boutiques, fashion blogs and style magazines you trust. There is a new list each day and you can search all the past lists on their site. They rank items in clothing, beauty, shoes, and accessories. Looking for calf hair pumps? They have a top ten list. Need the best hair dryer? There is a top ten list for that. Awesome, right?
I really do love this site! It is new {still in beta}, so check it out. I really think they are on to something.
I love a great online store! In the coziness of my PJ’s with a cup of coffee {decaf, of course}, I can browse for myself and others. Believe it or not, gift giving season is right around the corner. Every year I have grand plans of kick starting my holiday shopping early. With sites like Moorea Seal, it might actually happen this year. Based here in Seattle, The Moorea Seal shop is a curated selection of beautiful accessories and objects, highlighting handmade artists from the United States. 7% of all proceeds from the store benefit five non profit categories.
During the summer I swooned over everything gold in the shop. Handmade jewelry and accessories all in my favorite hue. This month I love a statement necklace, an awesome print, items that represent my beloved Northwest, and great bags to carry all of my stuff. I certainly found items I would buy for myself, but spied many others that I could give as gifts.
And now the really great news. Starting today, thru November 30th, simply use the discount code JUNELOVE at check out and you will receive 10% off your entire Moorea Seal order! How much do we love that? Please share the goodness and this post with any and all.
Yes, I know. I am painfully aware that it is NOT picnic season. I thought of waiting to post about this latest find, but I just couldn’t. I just found the What is It? melamine paper bowls in the gift department at Nordstrom [of all places] for 50% off. Too good to pass up! I had been looking to replace my Target kiddie melamine bowls. Don’t get me wrong, they served us well. It was just time for something a little more grown up! These babies are dishwasher safe and too cute for words. They are truly exact replicas of the classic paper bowls. I will keep them in a low drawer, so the boys can easily get to them, year round.
You probably won’t be running out to purchase summer party goodies [unless you can find them on sale like I did], but it is worth a “pin”. There is always next year!!
Lauren Bush Lauren founded FEED in 2007 as a humanitarian mission to feed children around the world. To date, FEED has provided over 60 million meals through the sale of bags and apparel. FEED has teamed up with Target this summer. Their line of over 60 products will help provide meals for children and families across America. FEED USA + Target is in stores now, but I didn’t realize how many products were available. Take a peek online to see the entire line. I snatched up a bag [which I am excited to use as my carry-on this weekend] and a tank. My purchases will provide 36 meals in the United States. Feeling pretty good about that. I rounded up a few of my favorites. Pop on over to target.com and peruse. Report back. Which are your favorite things from this collection?
I use my phone as my point and shoot camera almost daily. This year I fell in love with Instagram and its square art form. While looking for a unique gift for an exchange during the holidays (2012), I came across Canvas Pop. I may have a new addiction!
Turn your Instagram images into a 12″ x 12″ piece of art! Wrapped canvas, amazing colors and all for $39.95! I was so impressed by the quality of the work and the image looked fantastic. It was hard to give it away.
After putting my pumpkins in the compost bin, my table needed a little cheer. I gathered a few items and found my washi tape. I dig this decorative paper tape. It makes a novice look really crafty!
I took down all of my Halloween decor, but fall is still center stage. I loved this simple idea to showcase a mini white pumpkin. A small cake plate, white hydrangeas and the pumpkin-that’s all you need.
I placed mine on a side table in the living room. It would be right at home in an entry or center stage on your table.
