I stepped outside my fashion comfort zone.  Saw something on Pinterest that inspired me and went for it.  And you know what?  I am going to do it again.

heading south for fall

Heading south………. to Southcenter that is!

With only 3 stores in the states, the fun, fast fashion from Topshop has been elusive unless you happen to be in NYC, Chicago or Vegas.  In a new partnership with Nordstrom, Topshop and Topman clothing, accessories, shoes, handbags and makeup will be available at a select number [scan list here] of Nordstrom stores in September. In the Seattle area, you will find Topshop [and me!] at Southcenter.

A few things to spark your possible interest.  Currently from TOPSHOP:

 bomber jacket
embellished tunic
sleeveless boucle peplum
rose beaded clutch bag
Will you TOPSHOP?

Read more about this partnership in the NY Times.

what to wear?

Thursday, June 21st, 2012

Lucky Magazine has taken the pressure off of us.  That question that is always hanging over your head.  [No.  Not, “What’s for dinner?”  The other one.]  What should I wear today?

First, review these 19 afordable pieces to have in your wardrobe to mix and match.

Then, choose one of these 45 combinations and rock your new outfit!  Just a few of my favorites…

 Be brave and have fun!

summer layers
It hasn’t been that warm around the Pacific Northwest in recent weeks.   [That might be the understatement of the century, but I won’t get started.]  It is also still raining…a lot.   Now, while I would love to be wearing my cut-offs, breezy tops and summer sandals, it is simply not feasible when the high reaches 58 degrees.
So, enter my recent “cold summer day” uniform.  My Splendid maxi skirt keeps my legs warm, a favorite long and lean tank from Target [my affection has been documented], and a Gap jean jacket.  And how do I accessorize?  Chuck Taylors to keep my toes dry in the downpours, a scarf [with a pop of color] to keep me from shivering, and my Ray-Bay aviators.  I also roll up the sleeves on the jacket and layer bracelets.  I am certainly not happy about this weather and I am desperately trying to mix in a few summer pieces.
Bring on summer.  Please

sprung for spring

sprung for spring by juneheartsfashion featuring a cross body shoulder bag

Just fell in love with polyvore.com!  Look what I put together in just a matter of minutes. You really must try it out.  Just jump on over to polyvore, click on create, and off you go.

I did create an account, juneheartsfashion, which lets me save my creations and share with all of you.  Sure would like to wear this outfit tomorrow, but it is entirely too cold [still!].
I own the Hudson cropped jeans, a trapeze tank top, the Ray-ban aviators, the Splendid sandals, and colorful scarf.  I dream of the Marc Jacobs cross-body bag and the kick-ass biker jacket would be a great top layer for a Seattle spring.

[For all you “pinners” out there, you can create and pin to Pinterest.]

design inspiration: cuff me

Thursday, February 16th, 2012

The cuff bracelet.  Long forgotten in the winter due the fact that we are all covered from head to wrist!  Soon (let’s hope soonER than later), spring will arrive and the cuff bracelet will be back in the mix. The perfect way to add color, personality, or fun to your outfit!

Here are few I spied on nordstrom.com:

Moschitto Designs | Filigree
Tory Burch | Woven Turlock

Stephan & Co. | Beaded Chevron

Nordstrom | ‘Gold Water’ Textured

TOMS ballet flats!
I already have my name on a pre-order list at Nordstrom!  They are so darn cute in person.  You can’t try them on, but you can stare longingly at them through a glass case.  Funny, right? Once again, sticking to my new motto.  I am not allowing myself to buy them in black!  Color me happy!
check out everything TOMS at http://www.toms.com/
Remember their amazing One for One mission.  Guilt free retail!

design inspiration: color me happy, again!

Saturday, January 14th, 2012

Oh, I just couldn’t help myself.  Added a few items to my wardrobe.   After peering into my closet recently, I have put myself on restriction!  I am not allowed to buy anything gray or black!  This sister needs to brighten it up a bit.  (Actually a whole lot!)

here are my latest additions:

H&M
floral print and very feminine. I can’t wait to wear this.
GAP-sexy boyfriend jeans(mitchum wash), comes in tall, regular, and petite
I had to order online because they didn’t have my size in the store.  A plus…found them in petite on the website.  I really do love boyfriend jeans. They will be a nice change from all the skinny jeans and boots I have been wearing this winter.
GAP-butterfly print scarf- (on sale!
the print on this scarf is great.  the picture doesn’t do it justice.
I also picked up an orange top and a skinny braided green belt at H&M.   I couldn’t find a picture online, so you will just have to visualize.
All this color and wearing patterns is totally out of my comfort zone.  What will you do to freshen up your look in the coming months?
Where is June?
