The best thing about summer in the Northwest is that you FINALLY get to everything outside. A highlight at our house is hosting outdoor movie nights! With the addition of a sweet, new [enormous] inflatable screen, movie nights are better than ever! Just add friends, blankets, and more than a few cords and it is a perfect summer evening.
You can’t watch a movie without sweets and popcorn. We treated the kids to snow cones before the movie. [Since it doesn’t really get dark here until 9:30pm this time of year…there is a bit of wait time!] Once it was showtime, the kids filled boxes with popcorn and bags with candy and found a viewing spot in the grass.
You don’t need a screen at all. Last year we projected the image onto the side of our house and it worked perfectly! All you need is a computer, a projector, and speakers. And of course a movie and great company! You could be hosting a movie night in your backyard this weekend.
